On the 6th April 2014 St John’s Smith Square will host a series of concerts and talks to celebrate John Woolrich’s birthday. The events include a concert given jointly by the London Sinfonietta and the Manson Ensemble from the Royal Academy of Music and a programme of Woolrich’s Pianobooks (including the first performance of the most recent one) given by William Howard, Tom Poster and Catherine Edwards. The day will end with a concert given by the Orchestra of St John’s, which will include the first performance of a new, commissioned piece for chamber orchestra, ‘Through paths and turnings’.
